Sometimes, life\'s struggles and depressing circumstances made me feel like I am not loved as much by God. And I begin to wonder if Jesus Christ loves me as much as He said. I wonder how much He loves me. How much He cares for me. And why do I feel unloved by Him or why I cannot feel His love?\r\nAre the struggles in my life part of how He loves me? What does He - Jesus Christ says about my present struggles?
The struggles you describe are common for all believers. Life's circumstances sometimes cause us to take our eyes off of God and focuses them on ourselves. We begin to be drawn toward how we feel and away from our faithful God. This is an attack of the enemy (satan) and his hope is to lead us to doubt the promisies that the Bible gives us. Jesus warned two of His disciples, Peter (Matt 14:31) and Thomas (John 20:27), not to doubt. But instead, He encouraged them to continue to believe and have faith.
At times the cares we experience may allow satan to whisper in our ears that God does not care about us or that He does not love us as much as He once did. But Scripture assures us (Is 41:10) (Lam 3:22-23) that God never changes and He never leaves us. It is not God who leaves us, but us who leave Him. He is ALWAYS there beside you and showering love on you. The challenges you are experiencing will trouble you again at some point, as they do all believers. But our responsibility is to stay close to our Lord, through prayer and study, so that we will recognize when we are beginning to drift away from the peace that we know our Savior provides. At that time we need to choose faith over feelings. For feelings are never a firm foundation and faith in God's promises can always be trusted.
This battle with the enemy never ends on this side of heaven. I will be praying that you find your way back into the Savior's arms and are covered by His peace again very soon.
Thanks, bro. Ron for your encouraging words. The below statement spoke to me a lot
"Our responsibility is to stay close to our Lord, through prayer and study, so that we will recognize when we are beginning to drift away from the peace that we know our Savior provides. At that time, we need to choose faith over feelings."
I experienced a range of attacks late last year and I think, as you said, the devil is just trying really hard to distract me from worshiping God and causing me to doubt His love for me. I will keep praying about this specifically.
Thank you so much for your words and I pray whoever reads this question later, will his/her mind refocused on Jesus Christ.
Amen.
