Sharing and disclosure
There are times when information described in this Privacy Policy may be shared by Journey With Jesus. This section discusses how we may share such information.
1. Personal information
Journey With Jesus will never sell or share your Personal Information for the independent commercial gain of a third-party. However, we may share Personal Information in accordance with our agreement with the specific user and the user’s instructions, including:
1.1 With third-party service providers and agents.
We may engage third-party Christian organizations or individuals to process Personal Information in order to deliver our Services; for example, for security and fraud prevention, hosting and communications providers, networking at Christian events (online or in-person), and sending of newsletters.
Specifically, we host special events and conferences, and these events' organizers will request to scan attendees’ badges to be granted access to our attendees’ contact details.
If a user agrees to have their badge scanned by an organizer at one of our events, the user understands that Journey With Jesus will share some of the user’s basic Personal Information (name, phone number, and email address) with said organizer. Where the organizer is using a data capture solution other than that provided by Journey With Christ, the user will be entering into a separate data usage agreement with the organizer, entirely independent of Journey With Christ.
Regardless of the exact process of data capture, we contractually require our organizers to give clear, unambiguous disclosure regarding how the scanned personal information of our users will be used, and to only capture a user’s details if said user then gives their explicit consent.
1.2 With other event attendees.
For digital conferences, we will upload your first name, last name, church name, and denomination to your profile in our event platform before you log in for the first time. If you would like to remove any of this information before the event starts, just click your name in the top right of the event platform screen, click My Account, then Profile, and amend your details.
2. Other information
We may create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized data from the Personal Information we collect, including by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to a particular user. We may use such aggregated, de-identified or anonymized data and share it with third-parties for our lawful business purposes, including to analyze, build and improve the Services, provided that we will not share such data in a manner that could identify you.
Data security and retention
We seek to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use and disclosure using appropriate physical, technical, organizational and administrative security measures based on the type of Personal Information and how we are processing that data. You should also help protect your data by appropriately selecting and protecting your password or other sign-on mechanism; limiting access to your computer or device and browser; and signing off after you have finished accessing your account. Although we work to protect the security of your account and other data that we hold in our records, please be aware that no method of transmitting data over the internet or storing data is completely secure.
We retain Personal Information about you for as long as you have an open account with us or as otherwise necessary to provide you with our Services. In some cases we retain Personal Information for longer if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or is otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, rule or regulation.

We’re constantly trying to improve our Services, so we may need to change this Privacy Policy from time to time, but we will alert you to any such changes by placing a notice on our website, by sending you an email or by some other reasonable means. Please note that if you’ve opted not to receive legal notice emails from us (or if you haven’t provided us with your email address), those legal notices will still govern your use of the Services, and you are still responsible for reading and understanding them. If you use the Services after any changes to the Privacy Policy have been posted, that means you agree to all of the changes.
