Knowing when to forgive and when to confront is essential. Jesus taught us to offer forgiveness freely and frequently, without conditions. However, confrontation becomes necessary for their well-being when friends act against God’s will. Yet, a grave warning remains: those who cause others to stumble will face accountability before God.

Surrounded by life’s material comforts, the rich man ignored his spiritual needs and shortcomings, leading to his condemnation. In contrast, the beggar Lazarus, deprived of necessities and plagued by suffering, was prepared for eternity. Death became the great equalizer, reversing their fortunes. God calls us to have the right attitude toward wealth and to use it selflessly to help others

He hears our cries and knows our distress (v.44). He remembers His covenant, even when we stray, and "do it our way." Through Jesus, we now have forgiveness, overflowing from His faithful love (v.45). In the past, He moved captors to show mercy (v.46). Today, we have hope in His unwavering grace. Save us, Lord, from the hidden enticements of our modern world. Fill us with the power of Your Holy Spirit as we bless Your holy name (v.47). Blessed be the Lord God, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen! Hallelujah!” (v.48)

Sin begins when we desire something excessively, as seen in Genesis 3:6 when Eve saw that the fruit was good for food, pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom—so she ate it. The lust of the flesh—the lust of the eyes—the pride of life. 1 John 2:16 reminds us that desires driven by pleasure, appearance, or pride do not come from God and lead to sin. O Holy Spirit, guard our hearts, guide us with Your wisdom, and lead us on the right path. 

Throughout the year 2025, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Faithfulness is demonstrated through unwavering commitment to goals, dedication to objectives, and intentionality in every step taken toward completing assigned tasks. It cultivates valuable skills and experience—knowledge, understanding, and wisdom—that prepare us for greater responsibilities. When we are faithful in small tasks, we honor the Lord, who sees and rewards our diligence. Are you steadfast in the little things? Remember, Jesus Christ is our ultimate rewarder.
