Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus

2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV)

Many things in the physical realm pose a threat to our spiritual lives. Despite this, Paul urges us to strive for purity, not through our own efforts, but by continually fixing our eyes on Jesus—the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Authenticity Over Appearance

Luke 13:22-30

Appearances can deceive, but God sees the true intent of the heart. Outward acts—attending church, teaching, or singing—mean little without a genuine relationship with Him. Like the religious hypocrites of Jesus’ time, we can miss the essence of faith by focusing on rituals. God desires authenticity, not empty religion. He judges hypocrisy but honors sincere efforts to obey and know Him, even when we stumble.

The Parable of Yeast

Luke 13:20-21

In the Kingdom of God, there is no lack or insufficiency. Whatever you have, no matter how small, carries the potential for divine multiplication. God's supernatural power transforms our "little" into abundant sufficiency—Luke 9:10-17. Through His power, believers are equipped to serve the unique purposes He has prepared for us. Come as you are, and be made new. Bring your "littleness" and seeming insignificance, and let Him make you an integral part of His Kingdom. With God, your small becomes large, your insufficiency becomes abundance.

The Parable of The Mustard Seed

Luke 13:18-19

For a seed to grow, the planter must first believe in its potential to bear fruit. In the same way, faith reminds us that, no matter how small or insignificant we may feel, God can use us for the glory of His Kingdom. Yet, just as a mustard seed cannot become a tree or provide shelter for birds without being nurtured, we too must diligently and faithfully tend to our vocation to experience divine growth.
