Jesus Christ holds a supreme claim on the lives of His followers, above all personal desires and comforts. Clinging to worldly conveniences can ultimately lead to destruction while surrendering one's life to God through Christ is the only path to true purpose. This teaching challenges our natural inclinations and requires faith, but by submitting to God's will, we discover the meaningful life He intends for us.

It’s easy to run after earthly values, but no matter how hard we try, there’s still a possibility that we may lose all. And there’s only one thing that can never be taken away from us, which is the relationship we have with God.

By faith, God's power did the impossible. As with many of Jesus' miracles, this incident shows that one who trusts in God can experience hope where previously there had been only despair. Even that which may seem beyond the scope of most doctors is still well within the normal range of miracles that God does for people who look to Him in faith.

Part of becoming mature is realizing that following our own desires only leads to a dead-end street. We remain 'infants' as long as we demand our own way and are always divisive. We should examine our lives to see if this characterizes our relationships. If so, we need to confess our sin and ask God to help us grow up.

Sometimes it feels like God is a million miles away, but our feelings are not always true. The truth is God is with us all the time, right here and right now. He is never too busy to listen to his children and He is the Almighty God who knows and understands everything that we are going through. Come, talk to him, and put your trust in Him.

Our thoughts and habits are already known to God (see Psalm 139:1-4); someday, others will know them too. God works to transform our thoughts, lives, and behavior as we are open, honest, and transparent in confessing our shortcomings. Then, when our lives are exposed to all, they will bring glory to God instead of shame on us.
